The LISTDATA command displays information about ESE-VOLs or pools in the storage system. Pool information refers to information about pools for Dynamic Provisioning for Mainframe. Information about other pools is not displayed. The following table lists the parameters for the LISTDATA command.

Type Function Description
VOLSPACE DEVICE Displays information about ESE-VOLs in the device to which the command was issued.
SUBSYSTEM Displays information about ESE-VOLs in the storage system to which the command was issued.
ALL Displays information about ESE-VOLs in all connected storage systems. If the display range is not specified, ALL is set.
EXTENTPOOL

CONFIG

SUMMARY Displays summary information about all pools.
EXTENTPOOL

ID (ID)

- Displays detailed information about the specified pool ID.
MAPVOLUME* Displays all ESE-VOLs associated with the pool in bit map format, in addition to the detailed information about the specified pool ID.
MAPVOLUME* - Displays all ESE-VOLs associated with the pool in bitmap format.
* When you specify MAPVOLUME, specify the ESE-VOLs that belong to the pool. If SOM 1256 is enabled and the pool has ESE-VOLs for which even and odd numbers are mixed for the associated CU number and the pool ID, you need to run the command twice. Run the command by specifying the ESE-VOLs for which the associated CU numbers are even numbers. Also, run the command by specifying the ESE-VOLs for which the associated CU numbers are odd numbers.

The following is an example of using the LISTDATA command. In this example, the command is issued to the volume whose VOLSER number is FCF6B6.

LISTDATA VOLSPACE VOLUME(FCF6B6) UNIT(3390)

When you issue this command, the specified ESE-VOL information is displayed as follows:

The following table shows the items displayed by the LISTDATA command for ESE-VOL information.

Item Description
DEVICE Device number recognized by the host
VOLSER Serial number of a volume
CAPUSED1 Number of cylinders allocated to this ESE-VOL, including control areas and reserved capacity

When the subscription limit is set, the reserved page capacity is not included. Even if the pages are released by the User Directed Space Release function, the reserved page capacity is not added to the free space of the pool.

The areas used for ESE-VOLs are allocated by page unit (44.8 Cyl per page). The number of cylinders is rounded up to the nearest integer and displayed.

CAP1 Capacity of this ESE-VOL (the number of cylinders)
EXTENT POOL ID1 Pool ID
SAM2 Volume attribute

ESE: ESE-VOL

Notes:
  1. 0 is displayed for a DP-VOL with no attributes set.
  2. STD is displayed for a DP-VOL with no attributes set.
