When operating with a single pool after adding a CBX pair by expanding the existing pool capacity, make sure that the parity group configuration used for the pool is consistent between the existing CBX pair and the newly added CBX pair.

Example 1

When there is one existing CBX pair, and the pool for which the load is to be distributed to the newly added CBX pair is configured with ten RAID5 (7D+1P) parity groups using 1.9‑TB SSDs:

Add ten RAID5 (7D+1P) parity groups using 1.9‑TB SSDs to the newly added CBX pair.

Example 2

When there are two existing CBX pairs, and the pool for which the load is to be distributed to the newly added CBX pair is configured with ten RAID5 (7D+1P) parity groups using 1.9-TB SSDs on the first CBX pair and ten parity groups with the same configuration on the second CBX pair:

Add ten RAID5 (7D+1P) parity groups using 1.9‑TB SSDs to the newly added CBX pair.

Example 3

When there are two existing CBX pairs, and the pool for which the load is to be distributed to the newly added CBX pair is configured with eight RAID5 (7D+1P) parity groups using 1.9‑TB SSDs on the first CBX pair, and ten parity groups with the same configuration on the second CBX pair:

Add ten RAID5 (7D+1P) parity groups using 1.9‑TB SSDs to the newly added CBX pair. In addition, add two RAID5 (7D+1P) parity groups using 1.9‑TB SSDs to the existing CBX pair that has only eight parity groups, so that it also has a total of ten parity groups.
