Custom-size volumes can be standard mainframe device emulation types, such as 3390-9, or custom-size volumes. Configuring custom-size volumes (CVs) using CCI is suitable for both mainframe and open-systems environments. CVs are logical volumes that can be allocated in any size in the free space of a parity group.
