Before you configure redundant LU paths, make sure to read the information in Guidelines for managing LUs.

You might want to define redundant LU paths so that if one LU path fails, you will be able to switch to its redundant path.

To define redundant paths when LUN security is disabled, you must redefine the LU path.

For an LU path configured as a redundant path, set the same LDEV number and LUN number as for the primary path.

Verify the port to be used for a redundant path.

Verify that the port type of the port to be used for a redundant path is the same as that of the primary path.

Use the following procedure to create a redundant path:

  1. Create a host group or an iSCSI target on the port to be used for a redundant path, and register the host.

See the raidcom add host_grp command or the raidcom add hba_wwn command for a Fibre Channel configuration.

  2. Configure the host group or the iSCSI target for the redundant path in the same way as the primary path.

See the raidcom modify host_grp command.

  3. Edit the port settings for the redundant path.

See the raidcom modify port command.

  4. If a CHAP user configuration is required for the iSCSI port of the redundant path, add or edit a CHAP user.

See the raidcom add chap_user and raidcom set chap_user commands.

  5. Link the host group or the iSCSI target on the redundant path port with the logical volume to configure the LU path.

See the raidcom add lun command.
