The following table shows DRS-VOL monitoring items.
| Monitoring Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Performance |
Verify the throughput of a DRS-VOL. Monitor the following throughput values:
If the pool or the DRS-VOL do not meet the performance requirements, change the capacity saving settings or expand the pool capacity. |
| Pool capacity |
Verify whether the pool used capacity has exceeded the threshold value. If the threshold is exceeded, check the system data amount that is an indicator of the garbage data amount. If the garbage data amount is low, expand the pool capacity. If the free capacity ratio of the pool drops to 1% or less, or if the free capacity falls below 120 GB, the capacity saving processing might be suspended or the write performance might decrease. This condition persists until the free capacity ratio exceeds 1% and the free capacity restores to at least 240 GB. To avoid this situation, set the warning threshold so that the usage rate of the pool effective capacity is 99% or less, and the pool free capacity is 240 GB or more. Example: For a pool with an effective capacity of 1000 GB, the warning threshold to ensure at least 240 GB of free capacity is calculated using the following formula: (1000 - 240) รท 1000 = 0.76 Set the warning threshold to 76%. |
