Note:
- Use a CLPR only to divide the cache capacity for external volumes.
- Do not move resources that are not external volumes from CLPR0.
The following table shows the recommended cache capacity that applies when using only Universal Volume Manager in a CLPR configuration that meets the following conditions:
- The CLPR contains only external volumes whose data direct mapping attribute is disabled.
- The data transfer rate is not a priority.
- The cache mode of the mapped volume is disabled.
- The CLPR contains only volumes for the open system.
| Total capacity of external volumes per CLPR when using only Universal Volume Manager | Number of MP units | Recommended cache capacity per CLPR |
|---|---|---|
| Less than 128 TB | 4 or 8 | 8 GB |
| 12 | 12 GB | |
| 128 TB or more | 4 | 8 GB |
| 8 | 16 GB | |
| 12 | 24 GB |
When expanding cache memory on the storage system, the implementation method for either the standard model or the high-performance model is used. If an expansion cache board is installed on the storage system, the cache memory must be expanded using the method for the high-performance model.
