Sending a test email

You can send a test email to confirm the setting of mail server used to send a notification email when a password has expired or is about to expire.

  • The Send Test Email Address option must be specified in the user account security policies.
  • You must have the Security Administrator (View & Modify) role to perform this task.
  1. Log in to the maintenance utility.
  2. Select Administration > User Account Policies.
  3. In the User Account Policies panel, click Modify.
  4. In the Modify User Account Policies dialog box, select the Email tab, and then click Send Test Email at the bottom of the dialog box.
  5. When the completion message appears, click OK.
  6. Confirm that the test email is received at the email address specified as the destination address.

    The test email contains the following information.

    Item Description
    Date Date and time the email was sent
    To Destination address of the email
    From Source address of the email
    Reply-to Return address to which the email from the recipient is sent
    Subject Title of the email
    User Name Name of the user to which the notification is sent
    Detail Reason why the notification is sent
    Serial Number Serial number of the storage system
    Action Action to take
    URL (IPv4) URL (IPv4) of the maintenance utility
    URL (IPv6) URL (IPv6) of the maintenance utility
