Workflow for configuring SSL/TLS communications for the management PC:
- (Optional) Download the OpenSSL software to create SSL keys.
You can use maintenance utility or the OpenSSL software to create SSL keys. If you choose to use OpenSSL, download OpenSSL version 3.0.7 or later from the OpenSSL website (http://www.openssl.org/).
- Create a private key:
- Create a private key key using maintenance utility. For details, see Create a private key and a public key using the maintenance utility.
- Create a private key using the OpenSSL software. For details, see Create a private key using the OpenSSL software.
- Create a public key:
- Create a public key key using maintenance utility. For details, see Create a private key and a public key using the maintenance utility.
- Create a public key using the OpenSSL software. For details, see Create a public key using the OpenSSL software.
- Obtain a signed certificate:
- Obtain a signed certificate using maintenance utility. For details, see Create a private key and a public key using the maintenance utility.
- Obtain a signed certificate using the OpenSSL software. For details, see Obtain a signed certificate.
- Convert the SSL certificates to PKCS#12 format.
This task is required only when you upload a certificate in PEM format and a private key file together.
For details, see Convert the SSL/TLS certificates to PKCS#12 format.
- Upload the SSL certificate to the storage system.
For details, see Upload the SSL certificate to the storage system.
- When necessary, change the TLS security settings.
For details, see Change the TLS security settings.
