The audit log files record the operations performed on the storage system and the program behaviors resulting from the operations, including who performed the operations and when. This information can be helpful for investigating problems or conducting non-technical departmental audits.
The audit log files are stored in the storage system. To access the collected logs, you must configure the storage system to transfer the logs to the syslog servers. Once configured, audit logs are automatically transferred to the syslog servers from the storage system.
Note: The audit log storage capacity on the storage system is limited. When the stored logs reach the maximum capacity, the oldest data is overwritten with the newest data. For this reason, audit logs should always be transferred to syslog servers.
