The following describes the web-based user interface of VSP One Block Administrator and the information shown on the dashboard.
The menu options and target systems that you see in the GUI are based on your access permissions.
Navigation Bar
- Health Status
Displays a status such as Error or Warning when one of the following events is detected:
- The pool usage rate exceeds the threshold value.
- One or more pools are blocked.
- An error occurs when backing up or restoring a snapshot.
- An incomplete SIM (a message generated when the storage system controller detects an error or service request) is detected.
- A GAD pair operation fails (Remote Protection). Remote Protection appears on the dashboard only when the GAD license is active.
- Management Tools
Launches the following tools from VSP One Block Administrator:
- Maintenance Utility
Launches the maintenance utility (a tool for managing storage systems) and performs various tasks such as initial setup during installation.
- Command Console
Launches the command input window from VSP One Block Administrator. From the window that opens, you can run commands for Command Control Interface, which is built into the storage system (the built-in CLI).
- Maintenance Utility
- Notification History
Provides a history of the information sent to the window while you were logged in.
- Help
- System Information
Displays System Information about the storage system managed by VSP One Block Administrator.
- Help
Displays the VSP One Block Administrator Help. You can use the Help to view procedures and other information.

In the Select TLS Security window, select the cipher suite to use for communication between the management client and storage system.
In the Update Certificate Files window, upload and update the certificate to use to connect to the web server during SSL communication between the management client and storage system.
In the Date & Time window, configure the storage system date and time.
In the Audit Log Settings window, configure settings to forward the storage system audit logs to the syslog server.
In the Encryption Environmental Settings window, configure settings that control whether data-at-rest encryption is enabled for the storage system and how encryption keys are managed. In the Encryption Keys window, manage the cryptographic keys used for encrypting storage system data. In the Key Management Server Settings window, configure how the storage system integrates with external severs for secure encryption key management. In the Setup System Information window, configure system information.
In the Edit Login Message window, edit the message that is shown in the login window.
In the Edit Session Timeout Period window, configure the session timeout time. In the Force Release System Lock window, forcibly release a storage system from the locked state.
Manually fail over the ESM. After fail over, you must log in again to VSP One Block Administrator.
In the Download System Dump window, download a system dump.
In the Download Small System Dump window, download a small system dump.
Tip:For details on the settings to configure, see the maintenance utility Help.
For details on the roles required to complete tasks in the maintenance utility and other notes, see the System Administrator Guide.
When closing the maintenance utility window, make sure to log out. If you close the window without logging out, the system might remain in the locked state.

Dashboard
When you log in, the dashboard opens. In the dashboard, you can check the storage system status, check the storage system total capacity, and view the following:
- Storage System Information
Displays the storage system name, model name, and serial number, as well as the status of resources. You can click the status to view a message about the health status.
- Capacity Usage
Displays the total capacity and used capacity of the storage system pools.
- Servers
Displays the number of servers that are registered. You can perform server-related tasks by clicking the relevant icons.
- Volumes
Displays the number of volumes that are created. You can perform volume-related tasks by clicking the relevant icons.
- Data Reduction
Displays the extent to which the stored data capacity has been reduced through the storage system capacity saving feature (deduplication and compression). In addition to showing reducible data capacity, Data Reduction shows data capacity that is non-reducible.
Note:After a volume is created from a pool and before data is written to the volume, the maximum value (99999.99) is shown.
- Storage System Performance
Displays status related to IOPS, response time (time needed to respond to requests from servers), and data transfer speed. You can identify values that differ significantly from normal values at an early stage by periodically checking this information. In particular, if there is a significant increase in the response time, a problem might have occurred on the storage system.
Note:If VSP One Block Administrator cannot acquire storage system performance information, the graph displays will not be continuous.
Location of notifications
The following two types of information are sent as notifications to the window while you are logged in to VSP One Block Administrator:
- Notifications of task results and other information
These are displayed as a snackbar in the upper-right corner of the window, and are shown for only five seconds.
To view past notifications, click
to open the notification history window.
To close the notifications in the window, click the Close button on each snackbar.
- Notifications of warnings and failures
These are displayed as a banner (error banner) at the top of the window.
To close the notifications in the window, click the Close button on each error banner.
To close multiple error banners at the same time, click
on the navigation bar and select Close All Error Banners.
