You can modify the OS type option settings for the storage system server. Modify OS type option settings if you want to change the OS type option that was automatically set when registering the server. When you edit the OS type options using VSP One Block Administrator, the host mode option settings for all host groups related to the server are overwritten.

Note:
  • Changing the OS type option (host mode option) might affect system performance. For details, see the section explaining host modes and host mode options in the Provisioning Guide.
  • If you used a management tool other than VSP One Block Administrator to change the OS type options of a host group related to a server, a mismatch might occur with the OS type options configured in VSP One Block Administrator. You can identify such a mismatch by a warning message that is displayed on the OS Type Options List screen. Resolve the issue by using the management tool to revert the host mode option settings to the previous settings.
You must have the Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role.
  1. From the navigation tree, select Storage > Server.
  2. Click the name of the server for which you want to modify the target name.
  3. On the server details page, select the OS Type Options tab, and then go to the screen for the OS type options.
  4. Click Edit OS Type Options in the action bar.
  5. In the Edit OS Type Options page, enable or disable options, then click Submit to apply the changes.
You can enable or disable multiple options at the same time.
  6. Display the details page for the server, and make sure the settings are correct.
