Suspending a GAD pair stops synchronous data replication between the local and remote volumes.
When a GAD pair is suspended, replication between the volumes stops, and the volumes operate without synchronization until the pair is synchronized again. Volume access behavior after suspension depends on the current GAD configuration and volume roles.
Note: You cannot suspend (swap suspend) a GAD pair by specifying a secondary volume.
Make sure that the quorum disk is healthy. Suspend the pair only when the quorum disk is healthy. A failure on the physical path between sites while the quorum disk is blocked can cause the server to lose access to the volumes.
- From the navigation tree, select .
- In the Global-Active Device Consistency Groups inventory page, select the consistency group that contains the GAD pair you want to suspend.
- In the Global-Active Device Consistency Groups details page, select the GAD pair, and then click Suspend Global-Active Device Pair.
- Click Submit to suspend the selected pair.
