Global-active device (GAD) provides synchronous data replication between storage systems to support high availability and data consistency. This is required when resuming data synchronization after planned maintenance, shutdown, or migration activities.
By suspending and resynchronizing GAD a consistency group, you can control data mirroring behavior while maintaining volume accessibility according to the operational state of the storage system.
To perform this task, you must have the Storage Administrator (Remote Backup Administration) role.
Note: If a consistency group contains a
combination of GAD pairs in
which some volumes are configured as primary volumes and others as secondary volumes, suspend
or resynchronization operations are performed on the primary volumes.
