When a GAD pair is no longer required, you can delete it from the consistency group. You can delete GAD pairs with the status Paused (PSUS), Paused / Blocked (PSUE), or Paused (SSWS).

When you delete a GAD pair, I/O continues on the local volume of the storage system where the delete operation is performed. The remote volume is assigned the GAD reservation attribute and becomes unavailable for I/O.

The host path to any volume that does not continue I/O (I/O mode: Block) must be disconnected from the server.

  1. From the navigation tree, select Remote Protection > Global-Active Device.
The Global-Active Device Consistency Groups inventory page opens, showing all configured consistency groups.
  2. On the inventory page, click the ID of the consistency group that contains the pair you want to delete.
The group details page opens and displays the pairs in the selected consistency group.
  3. In the Global-Active Device Pairs table, select the pair you want to delete.
  4. In the action bar, click Delete Global-Active Device Pairs.
  5. In the confirmation dialog box, click Submit to confirm.
