Global-Active Device (GAD) provides continuous data availability by mirroring volumes across two storage systems. Before using GAD for replication operations, you must configure a consistency group and define the volume pairs that will participate in synchronous mirroring. To perform this task, you must have the Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role.
Note: VSP One Block Administrator can create and manage only GAD pairs that belong to a consistency group. If pairs are created using a another management tool, VSP One Block Administrator allows you to view the pair details from the volume details page of the volumes used by the pair. To manage GAD pairs that do not belong to a consistency group, use a another management tool.
