Adding a data source using the Data Estate Browser

Add a data source such as S3 using the Data Estate Browser and verify that the data source and files are accessible.

  • Verify that you have either Administrator or Agent Builder permissions.
  • If your S3 source is behind a secure gateway ensure it uses a well-known CA certificate. While unencrypted HTTP is supported, self-signed HTTPS certificates are not compatible with this version.
  • You can create buckets using your S3 or upload files into the bucket using CLI. For more information, see Configuring internal S3 object storage
  1. From the iQ Studio home page, select Data Estate Browser tab, and then select Add Data Source.


  2. Enter the data source details.

    In the Add Data Source dialog, provide the following information:

    • Operator type: S3
    • Name: Name of your data source
    • Access key: Your S3 access key
    • Secret key: Your S3 secret key
    • Endpoint URL: Your S3 endpoint URL
    • Region: Your S3 region name
  3. Click Add.
  4. Verify the data source and the data.
    • Confirm that the new data source appears in the left navigation pane.
    • Expand the data source to view the buckets created on the server.
    • Expand a bucket to view the files it contains.
