  1. Log in as a root user and add the VSP One Object access key to all Elasticsearch nodes using the terminal:
    $ /usr/share/elasticsearch/bin/elasticsearch-keystore add s3.client.<s3 client name>.access_key
  2. Add the VSP One Object secret key to all Elasticsearch nodes:
    $ /usr/share/elasticsearch/bin/elasticsearch-keystore add s3.client.<s3 client name>.secret_key
  3. Configure the S3 client settings on every Elasticsearch node by editing the /etc/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.yml file:
    #-------------------------- S3 Snapshot Repository --------------------------------
    s3.client.<s3 client name>.endpoint: "https://s3.<vsp1o-region>.<vsp1o-domain-name>" // (e.g. https://s3.site02.vsp1o.lab.local)
    s3.client.<s3 client name>.protocol: "https"
    s3.client.<s3 client name>.max_retries: 10
    s3.client.<s3 client name>.region: <vsp1o-region>
    s3.client.<s3 client name>.read_timeout: 60s

  4. Restart Elasticsearch on all nodes:
    systemctl restart elasticsearch
