If the following event log is output, the operation may have been unsuccessful because other conflicting processes are in operation.

KARS03046-E KARS06334-E KARS06452-E KARS07260-E KARS07280-E KARS08156-E KARS08161-E KARS08173-E KARS08178-E KARS10014-E KARS10016-E KARS10109-E KARS10201-E KARS10901-E KARS13110-E KARS13122-E KARS13202-E KARS15611-E KARS16003-E KARS19207-E KARS20054-E KARS20055-E KARS21131-E KARS23055-E KARS23062-E KARS23242-E KARS27201-E KARS27851-E KARS27896-E KARS27897-E

The following method can be used to verify the status of potentially conflicting operations.

Retry the operation that was unsuccessful after the conflicting operation has completed.

  • Storage node maintenance recovery, storage node replacement, or software update
    1. Identify the job ID.

Verify the event log (KARS13009-I) indicating starting of the job to verify whether the "Operation" in the message corresponds to either of the following:

      STORAGE_NODE_RECOVER (storage node maintenance recovery)

      STORAGE_NODE_REPLACE (storage node replacement)

      STORAGE_UPDATE_SOFTWARE(software update)

If one of the above applies, note the job ID indicated in the message.

    2. Verify the job operation status.

If the status is "Running" as a result of obtaining the job information for the identified job Id according to the description in Obtaining information about individual jobs in the VSP One SDS Block and SDS Cloud System Administration, the storage node maintenance recovery or storage node replacement is in progress.

When the operation has completed, the status is "Completed."

      Note:

If software update is running, the processing might not conflict with other jobs depending on the update status of each storage node. For this reason, if you reperform an unsuccessful operation after event log KARS10100-I is output, the operation might become successful.

  • Capacity balancing

When event log KARS16029-I is not output after event log KARS16028-I is output, a capacity balancing process is in operation.

Event log KARS16029-I is output after the operation has completed.

  • Capacity allocation to the storage controller

When none of event logs KARS16017-I, KARS16020-I, KARS16022-I and KARS16081-I is output after event log KARS16021-I is output, capacity allocation to the storage controller is in operation.

After the operation has completed, one of event logs KARS16017-I, KARS16020-I, KARS16022-I, and KARS16081-I is output.

  • (Bare metal) Creating a configuration backup file

When event log KARS13121-I is not output after event log KARS13120-I is output, a configuration backup file is being created.

Event log KARS13121-I is output after the operation has completed.
