If you do not reperform storage node addition after an unsuccessful attempt, delete a storage node VM (Azure VM instance) that is not included in VSP One SDS Block configuration information to prevent unnecessary billing by Microsoft Azure.

CAUTION:

Perform this procedure only if there are storage nodes that are not included in configuration information of VSP One SDS Block.

In the Azure portal resource groups, access the resource group page of VSP One SDS Block to select and delete the VM, NIC, disk, and VMSS resources of the storage nodes that are not included in configuration information of VSP One SDS Block.
Note:

The resources of storage node VM, NIC, and disk created by VSP One SDS Block are each assigned a resource name in the format of "<clusterName>-SN<XX>-<suffix>." Accordingly, you can identify which resource belongs to which storage node.

<clusterName> indicates the storage cluster name, <XX> indicates the storage node number, and <suffix> indicates the resource type or resource number.

For Multi-AZ configuration, you do not need to delete the VMSS. For Single-AZ configuration, however, you need to delete it. VMSS resources are assigned resource names in the format of "<clusterName>-SS<XX>-scaleset." <clusterName> indicates the storage cluster name and <XX> indicates the VMSS number. Access the page of the VMSS with the largest <XX> to verify the Azure VM instance.

If the Azure VM instance shows nothing, delete the VMSS. If the Azure VM instance shows the VM to be deleted, delete the VM, and then delete the VMSS. You can delete the VMSS only after deleting the VM. If the Azure VM instance shows a VM other than the one to be deleted, you do not need to delete the VMSS.

Resources existing in configuration information of VSP One SDS Block are set with resource protection (to avoid inadvertent deletion).
