Registering spare node information (Bare metal)

Register information about the intended spare node as follows.

Required role: Service

  1. Open the Spare Nodes list tab in the Storage Nodes window, and then click the following icon.

    The following dialog appears.

  2. Enter the following parameters:
    • FAULT DOMAIN: Name of the fault domain to which the spare node belongs
    • CONTROL PORT IP ADDRESS: IP address (IPv4) of a control port
    • SETUP USER PASSWORD: Password of the setup user
    • BMC NAME: Host name or IP address (IPv4) of the BMC
    • BMC USER: Username for BMC connection
    • BMC PASSWORD: Password for BMC connection
  3. Click Submit.
  4. When the following "Completed" message is displayed, processing is completed.

    • Successfully registered spare node.

    Note:

    To verify that the combination of the BMC information and spare node that are registered is correct, perform the procedure described in Verifying spare node function settings (Bare metal) in the VSP One SDS Block and SDS Cloud System Administration.
