Unmount a file system when it needs to be
removed from service. For a client, the file system disappears. This action does not
harm the file system or affect its data.
Note: You do not need to unmount a file
system before shutting down or restarting a server or cluster. Suppose a mounted
file system was unmounted when the server or cluster was shut down or restarted. In
that case, the file system will not automatically be mounted when the server or
cluster is restarted.
