- License function indicator 0745 and feature code 7025 must be enabled in the host.
- Ensure that all storage systems support the PPRC multi-target function.
- The DKCMAIN microcode version must be A0-05-41 or later.
- Confirm that the requirements in System requirements and specifications are met.
- Advanced system setting No. 5 must be set to ON.
Confirm that a TC/TCz pair is not formed with CU number 0x80 or later, and then enable No. 5 (the TCMF multi-target function). If a TC/TCz pair is formed with CU number 0x80 or higher, delete the TC /TCz pair and then enable TCMF multi-target function. For details, see the Provisioning Guide for Mainframe for VSP One Block 85.
- Set the following z/OS system item:
Device support option: Specify “ENABLE(PPRCMT)” for the DEVSUPxx paramlib member.
CAUTION:
If the storage system restarts with volatilization (forced outage with volatile DKC and media chassis, PS-OFF to volatile PS-ON, or offline microcode replacement), the TCMF multi-target setting is disabled. Make sure to re-enable this setting after the volatilization.
Note:
- For precautions about TCz pairs created on a storage system with TCMF multi-target enabled, see Precautions when using the PPRC multi-target function.
- To disable the TCMF multi-target function, delete the TCz pairs that use the PPRC multi-target function first, and then change the setting (raidcom modify mainframe_system_function).
- Use PPRC commands or GDPS for PPRC multi-target operations. BCM can be used in a PPRC multi-target configuration but not for Multiple Target Incremental Resynchronization (MTIR) pairs. CCI or CSM cannot be used for PPRC multi-target pairs.
