If a Failover or Failback operation is performed between the primary and secondary sites in a PPRC multi-target configuration, a PPRC cascade configuration results. A PPRC cascade configuration consists of one primary site, one intermediate site, and one secondary site. In the configuration when the pair status between the primary and intermediate sites is Duplex or Pending, the pair status between the intermediate and secondary sites is Suspend.
You cannot create a PPRC cascade configuration from two TCz pairs without creating a PPRC multi-target configuration. In addition, the CASCADE option cannot be specified in the PPRCOPY ESTPAIR command.
