The maximum number of pairs per storage system is subject to restrictions, such as the number of cylinders or bitmap areas used in volumes. The maximum number of pairs might be smaller than the number listed in System requirements and specifications because the amount of used cylinder and bitmap area differs depending on the user environment (volume size).
TrueCopy supports a maximum of 65,280 pairs. If Command Control Interface is used, the maximum number of pairs is reduced by the total number of command devices defined.
The number of LDEVs, not LUs, is used to determine the maximum number of pairs.
