After you have configured your storage system for ShadowImage operations, you can start creating pairs and assigning them to consistency groups (CTGs).
When the new ShadowImage volumes are paired and have reached the PAIR status, you can split pairs as needed to gain access to the S-VOLs. You can then resynchronize split pairs by copying the P-VOL differential data to the S-VOLs (forward resynchronization) or by copying the S-VOL differential data to the P-VOLs (reverse resynchronization).
If desired, you can expand the capacity of a DP-VOL used in a ShadowImage pair without suspending or deleting the pair.
When you are finished working with paired volumes, you can delete the ShadowImage pairs as needed.
