Implementing QoS controls

Use the following workflow to configure QoS settings to set performance levels for volumes and groups of volumes.

1. Identify the volumes for which you want to implement QoS controls.
2. (Optional) Create QoS groups.
3. Specify the desired QoS settings for the volumes and QoS groups (see QoS upper-limit control).

   For details about determining appropriate setting values, see QoS use cases.

4. Specify the desired QoS alert settings (see QoS alert).
5. Monitor the performance data by using the QoS monitor function (see QoS monitor.
6. Revise the QoS volume and volume group settings as needed based on the QoS monitor performance data.
