You can connect two storage systems directly to each other.
You can use host mode option (HMO) 51 (Round Trip Set Up Option) to improve response time of host I/O between the storage systems for long-distance direct connections (up to 10 km longwave) when the open package is used.

The fabric and topology settings depend on the settings of the packages, the protocol used for the connection between the storage systems, and the setting of HMO 51. The link speed that can be specified differs for each condition.
