These are the recovery procedures for powering on the source UR primary storage system on which the planned outage was performed "during migration". The procedure for powering on the storage system on which the planned outage was performed "after migration is complete" is the same as that for normal operations.

  1. Power on the storage system at the source UR primary site.
  2. Verify that the UR primary and secondary storage systems do not have any blocked parts.
If any parts are blocked, ask your service representative to recover them.
  3. On the storage system at the source UR secondary site, resynchronize (swap resync) the UR pair by specifying the S-VOL.
    pairresync -g oraUR00 -swaps -IH2
When the command is complete, the volume of the source UR pair at the primary site has changed to the S-VOL and the volume at the secondary site has changed to P-VOL.
  4. Confirm that the pair status of each pair has changed as shown in the following table.
    Pair type Pair status
    P-VOL S-VOL
    GAD pair PSUS(Local) SSUS(Block)
    Source UR pair PAIR PAIR
    Target UR pair - -

    - : Any pair status

  5. Stop I/Os from the servers to the storage system at the source UR secondary site.
  6. On the storage system at the source UR primary site, suspend (swap suspend) the UR pair by specifying the S-VOL.
    pairsplit -g oraUR00 -RS -IH1
  7. Start I/Os from the servers to the storage system at the source UR primary site.
  8. On the storage system at the source UR primary site, resynchronize (swap resync) the UR pair by specifying the S-VOL.
    pairresync -g oraUR00 -swaps -IH1
  9. Confirm that the source UR pair status has changed to PAIR.
  10. Suspend the UR pair by specifying the P-VOL if the UR pair is configured between the target sites.
  11. On the storage system at the source UR primary site, resynchronize the GAD pairs.
  12. Confirm that the pair status of each pair has changed as shown in the following table.
    Pair type Pair status
    P-VOL S-VOL
    GAD pair PAIR(Mirror(RL)) PAIR(Mirror(RL))
    Source UR pair PAIR PAIR
    Target UR pair* PSUS SSUS
    * UR pair is configured between the target sites.
  13. Resynchronize the UR pairs if the UR pair is configured between the target sites.
After powering on the storage system, continue the UR environmental migration operations by using GAD.
