The following table shows GAD pair operations and whether they can be performed (Yes or No) with the listed UR pair status. The possibilities to perform a GAD pair operation depend on the status and the attribute of the UR pair that shares each volume of the P-VOL and the S-VOL used by the GAD pair.

Note:
  1. P: Whether GAD pair operations can be performed depending on the status of a UR pair that uses GAD P-VOL

    S: Whether GAD pair operations can be performed depending on the status of a UR pair that uses GAD S-VOL

    The GAD pair operation is complete correctly only when the GAD pair operation can be performed for both the GAD P-VOL and the GAD S-VOL.

  2. The table shows whether GAD pair operations can be performed when the source UR pair uses the GAD P-VOL. When creating a GAD pair, the volume used by a UR pair cannot be specified as the GAD S-VOL.

Note:
  1. Shows the attributes of GAD pair that uses the UR P-VOL or UR S-VOL to be operated.
  2. UR environmental migration by using GAD does not support the sharing volumes with a 3DC configuration. Therefore, the pair for delta resync cannot be created. In addition, during the UR environmental migration by using GAD, the UR pair can be created only when the volume used by GAD is specified as the UR P-VOL.
  3. Shows whether the pair operations can be performed when sharing the UR S-VOL and the GAD volume. The possibilities of GAD pair operations when sharing the UR P-VOL and the GAD volume are the same as those shown in the column of “Split pairs by specifying P-VOL”
  4. The combinations are not possible when sharing the UR S-VOL and the GAD volume.
