Using the P-VOL at the target GAD pair as the P-VOL of the target UR pair, create the UR pair. For a detailed description of the steps used to create the target UR pair, see Creating the UR pairs in a GAD+UR configuration.

  1. To connect the storage system at the target GAD primary site and the storage system at the target UR secondary site, add a remote connection between these two storage systems.
  2. Create a journal on the storage system at the target GAD primary site.
  3. Stop the CCI instance on the storage systems at the target GAD primary site and at the target UR secondary site.
  4. Add information for creating a UR pair to the configuration definition file for each CCI instance you stopped. After editing the configuration definition file, start each CCI instance.
Specify different mirror IDs for the target GAD pair, the target UR pair, and the temporary GAD pair used for migration.
  5. Create a target UR pair.
    Command example:
    paircreate -g UR10 -f async -vl -jp 10 -js 12 -IH11
  6. Verify that the pair status status becomes COPY.
In this configuration, the pair status of the target UR pair does not change to PAIR.
