Migrating GAD pairs from a storage system to a new storage system

The workflow for migrating GAD pairs from a storage system to a new storage system using GAD follows:

  1. Set up the target primary storage system, and then temporarily create a GAD pair used for data migration between the source and the target primary storage systems.

See Creating a temporary GAD pair used for data migration.

  2. Set up the target secondary storage system, and then create a target GAD pair between the target primary and secondary storage systems.

See Creating a target GAD pair.

  3. Suspend the source GAD pair by specifying the P-VOL, and then enable the host to recognize the S-VOL of the GAD pair used for data migration in the PAIR status.

See Suspending the source GAD pair by specifying the P-VOL.

  4. Suspend the temporary GAD pair created for data migration by specifying the S-VOL, and then enable the host to recognize the S-VOL of the target GAD pair in the PAIR status.

See Suspending the temporary GAD pair for data migration by specifying the S-VOL.

  5. Delete the source GAD pair and the temporary GAD pair created for data migration.

See Deleting the source GAD pair and the temporary GAD pair for data migration.

  6. Remove the physical paths for the source storage systems, and then remove the storage systems.

See Removing the source storage systems .
