Migrating GAD pairs from a storage system to a new storage system
The workflow for migrating GAD pairs from a storage system to a new storage system using GAD follows:
- Set up the target primary storage system, and then temporarily create a GAD pair used for data migration between the source and the target primary storage systems.
- Set up the target secondary storage system, and then create a target GAD pair between the target primary and secondary storage systems.
- Suspend the source GAD pair by specifying the P-VOL, and then enable the host to recognize the S-VOL of the GAD pair used for data migration in the PAIR status.
- Suspend the temporary GAD pair created for data migration by specifying the S-VOL, and
then enable the host to recognize the S-VOL of the target GAD pair in the
PAIR status.
See Suspending the temporary GAD pair for data migration by specifying the S-VOL.
- Delete the source GAD pair and the temporary GAD pair created
for data migration.
See Deleting the source GAD pair and the temporary GAD pair for data migration.
- Remove the physical paths for the source storage systems, and then remove the storage systems.
