Recovering from a failure that occurred during phase 3 on the primary storage system of the source GAD pair

  1. Recover from the failure on the storage system, and then resume the operation on the P-VOL of the source GAD pair.
  2. Suspend the target GAD pair by specifying the P-VOL.
    Command example:
    pairsplit –g oraHA02 –IH2
  3. Verify that the target GAD pair has been suspended.
    Command example:
    pairdisplay –g oraHA02 –fcxe –IH2

  4. Delete the target GAD pair.
    Command example:
    pairsplit –g oraHA02 –S –IH2
  5. Verify that the target GAD pair has been deleted.
    Command example:
    pairdisplay –g oraHA02 -fcxe –IH2

  6. Verify that the pair status (I/O mode) of the temporary GAD pair is PSUE(Local) for the P-VOL and COPY(Block) for the S-VOL.

  7. Forcibly delete the S-VOL of the temporary GAD pair by deleting the virtual LDEV ID.
    Command example:
    pairsplit –g oraHA01 –RF –IH2
  8. Forcibly delete the P-VOL of the temporary GAD pair by leaving the virtual LDEV ID.
    Command example:
    pairsplit –g oraHA01 –SFV –IH0
  9. Verify that the temporary GAD pair has been deleted.
    Command example:
    pairdisplay –g oraHA01 –fcxe –IH0

  10. Verify that the virtual LDEV ID remains for the P-VOL of the source GAD pair.

  11. Verify that the GAD reserve attribute is assigned to the virtual LDEV ID of the S-VOL of the temporary GAD pair.

  12. Resynchronize the source GAD pair by specifying the P-VOL.
    Command example:

  13. Wait until the copy operation for the source GAD pair is complete, and then verify that the pair status has changed to PAIR.
