For this use case of changing the I/O mode to recover from a suspended GAD pair, the pair status is PSUE, the I/O mode is Block for both the P-VOL and S-VOL, and operations are stopped.

Note: When a failure occurs, if Check Condition is returned as the response to the write request from the host, the written data is not guaranteed.

  1. Switch the I/O mode of the P-VOL to Local to resume operations.
Command example when the P-VOL is instance 0:
pairsplit -g oraHA -iomd local -IH0

The I/O mode of the P-VOL is forcibly switched from Block to Local, and then you can resume operations.

  2. Resynchronize the GAD pair by specifying the P-VOL to recover the GAD pair status.
When the pair is resynchronized, initial copy (copying of the entire data, which is the same operation as copying when a pair is created) might be performed depending on the state when the failure occurs.
