If either of the following conditions is met, deleting volumes only does not change the virtual LDEV ID.
- The DKCMAIN microcode version is A0-05-41 or later and VSM auto-configuration is not used on the operation-target volume.
- The DKCMAIN microcode version is earlier than A0-05-41.
Therefore, if you do not plan to re-create the GAD pair with the volumes you delete, you must also delete the virtual LDEV ID.
If you re-create the volume you delete, the same virtual LDEV ID as the deleted volume is assigned.
