Create an NVM subsystem whose NVM subsystem ID is reserved by following the procedure in Reserving an NVM subsystem ID for a resource group. For more information, see the Provisioning Guide.

  1. Specify an NVM subsystem ID or a virtual NVM subsystem ID to create an NVM subsystem.
    • Specifying an NVM subsystem ID

Create an NVM subsystem whose NVM subsystem ID is 1. If a different NVM subsystem ID from an NVM subsystem ID containing a namespace to be defined as the P-VOL is reserved, specify the NVM subsystem ID containing the namespace to be defined as the P-VOL for a virtual NVM subsystem ID.

      raidcom add nvm_subsytem -nvm_subsystem_id 1 -host_mode VMWARE_EX -
      request_id auto -IH1
      REQID: 100
    • Specifying a virtual NVM subsystem ID

Create an NVM subsystem whose NVM subsystem ID is 2 and whose virtual NVM subsystem ID is 1.

      raidcom add nvm_subsytem -nvm_subsystem_id 2 -virtual_nvm_subsystem_id
       1 -host_mode VMWARE_EX -request_id auto -IH1
      REQID: 100
Note: A maximum of 65,280 request IDs can be assigned to one storage system. If there is no available request ID, the command fails with EX_IDEXHA. If that occurs, see the description of the function of request IDs in the Command Control Interface Command Reference and release request IDs.
  2. Specify the request ID that was displayed in step 1, and then check the error information about the CCI configuration command that is performed asynchronously. Verify that the value in the Description column is a hyphen (-).
    raidcom get command_status -request_id 100 -IH1
    REQID R SSB1 SSB2 Serial# ID Description
    00000100 - - - 822222 - -
  3. Confirm that asynchronous command processing has completed, and then release a request ID.
    raidcom reset command_status -request_id 100 -IH1

Verify that the NVM subsystem with an NVM subsystem ID of 1 is created.

Configure the other NVM subsystem settings to the same settings as the NVM subsystem created on the primary storage system.
