Caution:
If the pair status of a GAD pair cannot be recovered due to failure or other reasons, you can recover the pair status by deleting the GAD pair forcibly. However, do not delete a GAD pair forcibly unless otherwise described as the procedure for forcibly deleting a GAD pair in this manual. If you delete a GAD pair incorrectly, it might cause problems, such as data inconsistency.
For example, if the virtual LDEV IDs of both P-VOL and S-VOL are deleted, both volumes are inaccessible from the server.
If the virtual LDEV IDs of both P-VOL and S-VOL remain when both the host path to the P-VOL and the host path to the S-VOL are enabled, the host falls into the state of split-brain.
This section describes how to delete the following pair forcibly:
- LDEV ID of the P-VOL: 0x2222
- LDEV ID of the S-VOL: 0x4444
- Mirror ID: 0
Run the command on the storage system that has the LDEV you want to delete.
- Deleting the pair information of the LDEV (with LDEV ID: 0x4444) only, and keeping the virtual LDEV ID as it is:
Run the command on the storage system that has the LDEV (with LDEV ID: 0x4444).
raidcom delete remote_copy_pair -ldev_id 0x4444 -mirror_id 0 -forcible -access_local_vol enable
- Deleting the pair information of the LDEV (with LDEV ID: 0x2222) only, and deleting the virtual LDEV ID:
Run the command on the storage system that has the LDEV (with LDEV ID: 0x2222).
raidcom delete remote_copy_pair -ldev_id 0x2222 -mirror_id 0 -forcible -access_local_vol disable
