You must set up accounts for all users who need access to VSP One Block Administrator to manage storage systems.

Using VSP One Block Administrator, the administrator creates an account for each user that requires access to the interface, and then registers the user to a user group with the required assigned roles and resource groups.

You set the user permissions based on the roles assigned to the user group. For details on the VSP One Block Administrator required roles, see the associated procedures. You must set the Storage Administrator (View Only) role to the user group.

The resource targets available to the user are controlled within the scope of the resources included in the resource groups assigned to the user group. If VSP One Block Administrator is used in an environment in which resource groups were created, assign all resource groups to the user group to which the user belongs. For the VSP One Block Administrator user, all resource groups must be assigned. For this reason, if there are unassigned resources, the user cannot log in.

To create user accounts and assign them to user groups, you can use the maintenance utility. For details on the settings, see the System Administrator Guide or the maintenance utility Help.

To create user groups, use the REST API. For details, see the REST API Reference for VSP One Block Administrator .

To use an external authentication server to centrally manage user accounts for VSP One Block Administrator, you can use the maintenance utility to configure settings. For details, see the System Administrator Guide.
