You can delete external volumes no longer needed as migration sources.

Note: When ESM load is high, this operation takes time to complete, so the processing might stop due to a session timeout. If a session timeout occurs, check the configuration and status of the target resources of the operation.
  • Check the names and IDs of external volumes to be deleted.
  • Make sure that the user performing the procedure has been assigned the Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role.
  1. From the navigation tree, select Storage > External Volumes.
  2. Select the checkboxes for the external volumes to be deleted, and then click Delete External Volumes in the action bar.

You can select multiple external volumes and delete them at the same time.

  3. Make sure that the target external volume is correct, select either Delete with Destaging or Delete without Destaging, and then click Submit.

If you select Delete with Destaging, the processing to write data stored in cache memory to the external volume (destage processing) is performed, the connection is disabled, and then the external volume is deleted. If you select Delete without Destaging, the destage processing is not performed, and the external volume is forcibly deleted.
