Specify a migration source volume and a migration destination pool, and create migration pairs for data migration. The migration destination volume will be created from the specified pool. Data copying starts at the same time as pairs are created.
- Make sure that the connection destination of the server that is using the migration source volume is switched from the migration source storage system to the migration destination storage system.
- Obtain the following:
- Name of the external volume
- ID of the external volume
- Name of the migration destination pool
- Capacity saving settings for the migration destination volume
- Mirror unit number
If the specified external volume is used for a ShadowImage pair volume, specify a mirror unit number that is not used by the ShadowImage pair. If the specified external volume is not used for a ShadowImage pair, you do not need to change the default value 0.
- Make sure that the user performing the procedure has been assigned the Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role.
- Select the checkbox of the external volume you want to specify as the migration source, and then click Next.
- Specify the required information and click Next.
- On the preview page, check Source Volume Name, Source Volume ID, and Target Volume Name.
For Target Volume Name, a volume name is automatically assigned based on Source Volume Name and Source Volume ID.
Make a note of the Target Volume Name displayed on the preview page.
Migration pairs will be added to the list screen, and data migration will start. You can check the progress and results of data migration by using Migration Progress Rate % and Status. For details about statuses displayed for Status, see the Volume Migration User Guide.
Once data migration is complete, on the migration pairs inventory page, the Target Volume ID field displays the IDs of the external volumes and the Source Volume ID field displays the IDs of the volumes created from the migration destination pool.
