Regardless of how the S3 compatible API is configured, if you provide invalid credentials, HCP returns an InvalidAccessKeyId or SignatureDoesNotMatch error code and does not perform the requested operation:

InvalidAccessKeyId
Indicates that the access key you provided does not correspond to a valid user name.
SignatureDoesNotMatch
Indicates that the signature does not match the content of the request. This can happen if the secret key used in the signature calculation does not correspond to the password for the account with the applicable user name but can also be due to other errors.
