Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) is the distributed, fixed-content, data storage system from Hitachi Vantara. An HCP system consists of both hardware and software.
After the HCP hardware is set up, the software must be installed. You can install the software yourself, or you can have your authorized HCP service provider do the installation for you.
This chapter reviews some basic HCP concepts and describes the HCP hardware architecture. The chapter also contains an overview of your HCP installation activities.
