The table below shows the weights of the building blocks for an S32 Node. The enclosure weights include the weights of the database drives (base enclosure) or initial drive set (expansion enclosure), the enclosure mounting rails, the cable management arm (expansion enclosure), and the enclosure power cables.
The weight of the base enclosure includes the weight of the two server modules installed in the enclosure, with the 4-port SAS PCIe card installed in each server module.
The weight of the expansion enclosure includes the weight of the two SAS cables that connect the enclosure to one or two lower-numbered enclosures.
The 10TB, 16TB, 20TB, and 24TB data drives weigh the same as each other.
Enclosure | Weight in lbs | Weight in kg |
---|---|---|
Base enclosure | 67.00 | 30.39 |
Expansion enclosure | 168.19 | 76.29 |
Capacity upgrade drive set | 52.91 | 24.00 |
To calculate the total weight of an S32 Node, add together the weights of the applicable components. For example:
- An S32 Node with five expansion enclosures that has two capacity upgrade drive sets in each of the first four expansion enclosures and one capacity upgrade drive set in the fifth expansion enclosure weighs, in pounds, 67.00 + 5(168.19) + 9(52.91), which equals 1,394.14 (632.37 kg).
- An S32 Node with nine expansion enclosures that has two capacity upgrade drive sets in each expansion enclosure weighs, in pounds, 67.00 + 9(168.19) + 18(52.91), which equals 2,533.09 (1,149 kg).
