If you have already set up user permissions on an HCI 2.x system, your user groups can be imported into HCI 3.0 through packages and assigned as composite roles within Keycloak to provide the same coverage. The 2.x roles are then automatically applied to the members of the same groups that exist within 3.0.
The groups that are not present, as well as the other contents of the package file, are ignored.
Prerequisites:
- An exported package from HCI 2.x with the relevant user groups selected.
- Roles created within Keycloak matching the exported user groups (see Assigning user roles).
To import user groups:
- Open Workflow Designer.
- Click the question mark icon.
- Click Workflow API.
- Click plugins.
- Click POST /admin/permissions/import.
- Click Try it out.
- Click Browse... and select the bundle containing your HCI 2.x user groups.
- Click Execute.
