Accessing the CLI tools from your computer

You can install the HCM CLI tools on your Windows or Linux computer. To do this, you must have version 1.8 of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed.

The HCM CLI tools are distributed in .tgz files along with the HCI software installation package:

HCI-Monitor-CLI-<version>.tgz

To install them:

  1. Store the files in a folder on your computer.
  2. To unpack the files:
    • On Linux, use command line tar zxvf filename.
    • On Windows, use an archive extraction tool such as 7-zip that can extract .tgz files.
