To use Business Continuity Manager, you need to install the appropriate license.
There are two types of licenses for Business Continuity Manager: a license for using basic functions, and licenses for using optional functions. When the license for using basic functions is installed, you can define and manage ShadowImage (SI), TrueCopy (TC), and Universal Replicator (UR) copy groups. To use optional functions, install the required license.
After a license key is installed in the license information dataset, functions corresponding to the license you installed become available.
When you migrate Business Continuity Manager from an older version to a newer version, depending on conditions, you might need to obtain the license keys again.
