The following lists the naming convention for each dataset:
- Disk configuration definition file name:
- prefix.DSK.SNnnnnn.DAD-ID
- Copy group definition file name:
- prefix.GRP.copy-group-ID
The values that can be specified for each variable are explained below. The values specified for prefix and DAD-ID must be the same as the value specified for the Business Continuity Manager agent initialization parameter PREFIX.
- prefix: Prefix of the
configuration file
Specify a string of 25 characters or fewer that consists of one or more parts, joined by periods (.). Letters for the prefix name are uppercase alphabetic with the length of 1 to 8 letters and the first letter must be alphabetic.
- copy-group-ID
Specify a string or multiple substrings joined together by periods. Uppercase alphabetic characters, numeric characters, and special characters ($, #, and @) can be used. Note that the string or each substring must begin with an uppercase alphabetic characters or special character, and consist of 1 to 8 characters.
Maximum specifiable length = 44 - (5 + prefix-length)
- nnnnn: Serial number of the scanned storage system
- DAD-ID: Device address domain ID of the
scanned storage system
The following values can be specified:
- When creating for a local scan: Device address domain ID of the local site
- When creating for an NG scan: Non Gen'ed Device address domain ID
- When creating for a remote scan: Device address domain ID of the remote site
Specify a string or multiple substrings joined together by periods. Uppercase alphabetic characters, numeric characters, and special characters ($, #, and @) can be used. Note that the string or each substring must begin with an uppercase alphabetic characters or special character, and consist of 1 to 8 characters.
Maximum specifiable length = 44 - (13 + prefix-length)
When a disk configuration definition file or a copy group definition file is updated from Replication Manager, a temporary file is created. After the file is successfully updated, the temporary file is deleted.
Do not create a dataset with the same name as that of a temporary file. The following lists the file naming conventions for the temporary files:
