Acquire backups of the following files.
- Copy group definition file (prefix.GRP.copy-group-ID)
- Disk configuration definition file (prefix.DSK.SNnnnnn.DADID)
- Route list definition file (prefix.ROUTE.route-list-ID)
- Command device definition file (prefix.CDEV.DADID)
- Path set definition file (prefix.PATH.path-set-ID)
- Dataset registered when the current version of Business Continuity Manager was installed
When backing up the configuration files, do so by using one of the following methods.
- Download the target files to the PC.
- Copy the dataset within the host.
- Change the dataset name within the host.
If you change the dataset name, make sure that you change the prefix only, and make sure the change does not affect other files.
The configuration file names contain the copy group ID, device address domain ID (DAD ID), route list ID, or path set ID. Therefore, if you change the dataset name, the consistency between the files is lost, and then Business Continuity Manager might become inoperable.
For details about configuration files, see the Hitachi Business Continuity Manager Reference Guide.
