Business Continuity Manager, Tiered Storage Manager for Mainframe, and MAR share a user SVC. Therefore, you need to compare the version of the user SVC that is registered by using Tiered Storage Manager for Mainframe or MAR and currently in effect in the system and the version of the user SVC that is required for Business Continuity Manager, and then use the newer version of user SVC.

To check the version of the user SVC that is currently in effect in the system, use the KTINSCHK command of Tiered Storage Manager for Mainframe, or the RSINSCHK command of MAR.

If the user SVC version does not satisfy the minimum version requirements (the version is older than the required version), re-register a user SVC.

In an environment where a Tiered Storage Manager for Mainframe version earlier than 8.5.2 or MAR version earlier than 8.6 is installed, you need to define the SYMDEF statement (the &YKSVCNO system symbol) when registering a user SVC statically.
